They had nothing in common with each other. Peter and Catherine’s marriage alone was a political one. Peter’s wife gained support from the army during the time of great desperation. State officials could no longer tolerate Peter’s actions and plotted to overthrow him. After Russians discovered that Peter had signed a peace treaty with Prussia, they labeled Peter as ‘the betrayer.’ His policies were considered so bizarre and against Russia’s wishes, that nobody knew what his next move would be. They included no efforts to improve Russian society. Peter III’s actions were considered unreasonable. If the album flowed better (and if "Disturbia" and "If I Never See Your Face Again" were included on the original album) then this album would've definitely placed higher. The reason for its placement is that the album's flow is super hyped, then very slow. Offering pop goodies like "Umbrella" and "Don't Stop the Music", this album also features "Rehab", one of my favorite songs by her. Reason(s) for Ranking: I think we can all agree Good Girl Gone Bad was Rihanna's breakthrough album. Standout Tracks: Don't Stop The Music, Rehab, Question Existing, Umbrella (feat. Good Girl Gone Bad/Good Girl Gone Bad: Reloaded Musically, though, I felt like it delved a little too far into EDM, and lacked the balance that a couple of her other albums provide, placing this one at #5.Ĥ. This is my favorite album of writers and producers included (Stargate, Sia, David Guetta, Ester Dean, and James Fauntelroy, among others).
Reason(s) for Ranking: Unapologetic was Rihanna's last album before her three-year hiatus, and it did not disappoint. Chris Brown), Diamonds, Get It Over With, Loveeeeeee Song (feat. Standout Tracks: Nobody's Business (feat. Although Rated R is a personal favorite of mine, there are just other albums with better songs that places this one at #6. With this being said, she was able to do the same thing on other albums, with better songs. The bravado of "Rockstar 101", the sensuality of "Rude Boy", and the tenderness of "Photographs" were early signs of Rihanna's mastery of musical versatility. Up until that point in her career, this album was a drastic (and much needed) musical change for Rihanna's discography.
