Seagate saw this as an opportunity to combine external desktop storage and a USB hub. Some users have to resort to USB hubs in order to connect multiple devices to their computer. At the same time, USB connected devices are more common than ever. The recent trend in personal computers is both a decrease in capacity as well as a decrease in the number of USB ports.
The new device also contains Seagate Dashboard Software and includes up to 200GB of OneDrive storage for two years. Based off of the Seagate Backup Plus, the new Backup Plus Hub will feature up to 8TB of capacity as well as two integrated USB 3.0 ports. Alternatively, you could reformat it into the HFS+ file system if you only want use it with a Mac.Recently Seagate Technology announced a new product that, unlike most of its products, will tackle several uses at once including storage, the Seagate Backup Plus Hub. It includes Paragon Driver for Mac that lets it work with a Mac computer without a reformat. Out of the box, the drive is formatted in NTFS and should work right away when connected to a Windows computer. And like all desktop drives, it requires its own power adapter (included) to function. It measures just 4.6 by 1.6 by 7.8 inches (118 by 41 by 198 mm) with a weight of 2.3 pounds (1.1 kg). The Backup Plus Hub is compact for a desktop external drive.
